Recently, a research team from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL) published an innovative study, announcing that they have successfully developed an ultrafast tunable photon integrated Pockels laser. This new laser combines the extended distributed Bragg reflector (Extended-DBR) structure with lithium niobate electro-optical modulation to achieve Ultrahøj hastighed, mode-hopping-fri, lav-støj og kontinuerlig frekvensindstilling .

Frequency-agile lasers have always been core devices in high-end technology fields such as LiDAR, distributed sensing, optical communications, and quantum information. However, traditional systems such as fiber lasers are not only bulky and expensive, but also often face technical bottlenecks such as slow tuning speed and frequent mode hopping.
